Remembering the Holy Souls

Dear Friends of Carmel Books,

All Souls' is upon us and we have today, and during the remaining days of the Octave, the God given power to gain plenary indulgences applicable to the suffering souls in Purgatory.

On the Feast of All Souls itself we may hope to gain the plenary indulgence by receiving Sacramental Confession, Holy Communion and reciting six Paters, six Aves and six Glorias for the intentions of the Sovereign Pontiff, and by being free from any attachment to venial sin.

We can also gain plenary indulgences for the Holy Souls during each day of the Octave under the usual conditions by visiting a cemetery in a spirit of piety and praying for the dead.

Please remember in your prayers and devotions the soul of our good friend Fr. Michael Crowdy who was called to his eternal reward at 3pm on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, 2006.
